Some dogs live for sunshine, and you want to keep it that way.

You see it in the way they light up for a walk, a camping trip, time in the yard, or a ride with the windows down. They love being outside. But all that sunshine can be hard on the spots that do not have much protection of their own, especially the nose, ears, and bald or thin-haired areas.

When those tender spots need a little extra care, you want something simple, gentle, and natural. Something you can feel good about using again and again.

That is why we made SnoutScreen.

SnoutScreen is a soothing balm designed to help protect and moisturize your dog’s nose, ears, and sun-exposed skin naturally. It glides on easily and is made for the areas that need extra care outdoors, including noses, ear tips, and bald spots. It is a simple way to look after the dog who never wants to miss an adventure.

Because when they love the outdoors, protecting them is part of loving them.

Ingredients & Benefits

Candelilla Wax is rich in nutrients and easily absorbed into the skin while creating an instant barrier to prevent moisture loss.

Cupuacu Butter is prized for its ability to moisturize and protect your dog's sensitive pink areas from the sun.

Coconut is a heavy-duty moisturizer, proven analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal.

Raspberry Seed is nature's natural sunscreen. Red raspberry oil has an excellent SPF rating estimated at 30 to 50 SPF. This oil is rich in vitamin E making it a good choice for skin issues.

Carrot Seed has a very high rating for sun protection, said to be between 30 and 38 SPF. Carrot seed oil is also packed with vitamins and antioxidants, including carotene and vitamin A.

Cedarwood has many great astringent and antiseptic properties to help heal wounds and provide a natural mosquito and flea repellent.

Lavender has many wonderful healing properties and will calm your dog with stress or anxiety. Lavender helps with calming, bug bites, and skin lesions, and can also soothe burns and act as a tick repellent.

Rose Geranium is a natural preservative, anti-inflammatory and potent antioxidant. Calms sunburns, insect bites, as well as other skin conditions where heat is present. Acts as a tick Repellent.

Colloidal Oatmeal is well-known for its soothing, moisturizing, and calming properties—it helps ease dryness and irritation on a dog’s nose and other delicate areas.

Bentonite Clay helps maintain a clean, balanced snout by gently drawing out excess oils and impurities, while also adding a fine, natural ‘barrier’ to assist in shielding the skin from the sun’s harmful effects.

Pink-nosed pup tested

My Aussie has a super pink nose and and we live in CO at 9,200ft. His nose gets sunburned pretty easily and I was looking for a natural, dog-friendly sunscreen option. This stick goes on smoothly and is easy to use, but doesn’t do the best job protecting his nose from the sun. Granted, as soon as I put it on he wants to lick it off, so it’s always hard to tell for sure. Compared to other products (human ones) we’ve tried, this does not work as well at protecting him from the sun.

Great product and fur baby approved

I bought this for my boxer Harvey to help protect his nose area and so far it seems to be working! The challenge is he likes it so much he tries to lick it off! I do love how it’s all natural, great for his skin and really is helping protect his delicate folds and skin. I will buy again!

It works wonders!

For the last few years my dog has had a dry, chapped, and split in two places. I tried a bunch of stuff, I even had her on a low dose of allergy meds. After a month it’s almost completely healed. It’s easy to apply and has the added benefit of sunscreen. I recommend. Before and after pics attached.

Very happy with this Natural Product

Our Border Collie has a bit of a Lupus problem with sunlight on her snout. Although I'm not sure if this has enough sunscreen, I'm very relieved to be able to paste the balm all over her nose, as she licks it off, without worrying aboutunsafe chemicals being ingested! We're over two months in without any symptoms of trouble. So far, so good!

So far so good

My pittie is a sun goddess. Normally this time of year she has deep scabs covering her nose. She would scratch her nose due to sun irritation and cause bleeding that would get packed with dirt. She seems to scratch less, but tries to lick off the product. I feel its working, but applying this multiple times a day is sometimes hard to do. Before and after photos.

Protect little pink noses

I have a lot of foster dogs with light colored noses and snouts. They have to sit outside in the sun for three hours for adoption events and I don't want them to get burned. This product has done the trick. Easy to use.

Part of my dog's nose is whitish pink so needs protection

Our rescue Border Collie has a partially whitish nose on top so your product is a perfect to use on it as a sun screen. Our vet told us that he could get cancer on this area of his nose if we didn't protect the skin . Thank You so much for making this sunscreen/moisturizer for dogs!

Fair skinned lady

My dog has short white fur and pink skin. She loves to lay and lounge in the sun. I rub this stuff in her nose, ears, and belly before she goes out to play. She hasn’t gotten burnt since I’ve started using it. This stuff stays on through romping in the water to digging in the dirt. If we are outside all day I reapply the snoutscreen periodically. It stays put pretty well and she doesn’t try to lick it or rub it off. I’ll be buying another stick after I use this one up.

Protected my dogs snoot in the sunny wilderness

I take my Swiss Mountain Dog camping in the wilderness with me regularly. Often we are in a canoe for a few hours and the sun can be quite intense. My dog has some pink on her nose and mouth area that turned quite red the first time we went out. Since then, I’ve been using this product and it’s been MUCH better. Great product for keeping my dog safe and healthy. My only wish is that there would be a smaller chapstick sized option as well. Would make it a bit more portable for minimal trips.

Great for Canine DLE

This sunscreen is great! Like many in the comments, my pup also has the autoimmune condition Discoid Lupus Erythematosus (DLE). This sunscreen/balm has worked better than the prescription cream! I scrape a bit off onto my thumb nail, warm it up by rubbing it between my fingers, then rub it into her nose. I give her a treat immediately to make sure she doesn’t lick it off/so it can set. Maybe that’s overkill, but who here isn’t guilty of spoiling their fur baby? :) Pics below are 12 weeks apart (before/after).

Worked great

My pitbull with an overbite, Bithcuit, loves to sleep in the sun. It's just that her mostly skin and white fur nose gets wrecked from it. At first I thought it was from her playing with the other dogs until someone told me she's probably getting sunburnt. So I got this for her and it's been a huge change! She really didn't want me to put it on at first, but I'm guessing she also realized it was working because she hasn't fought me on it since. The redness has almost entirely disappeared and so have the dried out spots on her snout. Definitely worth getting if you have a sensitive pupper!

Love this stuff

So my pup (Oak) was diagnosed with the milder version of canine Lupus last Spring (2018). He started to slowly lose pigment on his nose during the Winter before, but he still had his appetite and energy so I just figured he was getting old. However, once the weather started to warm up, and we were spending more time outside, his nose began to burn and flare up something awful -- all cracked, bloody and scabby. The vet put him on antibiotics, and that helped but certainly wasn't a long-term solution. We live in Colorado and the sun can be pretty fierce here, especially when you get up into the mountains. I tried keeping him inside during the hottest part of the day, which also helped, but he was miserable. And so was I. Oak is my camping, backpacking, fishing buddy and I couldn't take him with me anymore. He was used to being able to go outside whenever he wanted, or wander around the woods and mountains, but even just a little while in the sun, unless it was early morning or late afternoon, and his nose would start to flare up again. So he basically spent most of last Summer stuck in the house. After still being careful and still having his nose flare up, I decided that wasn't going to be the case this year and started looking at sunscreens specifically for dog noses... and this product has made such a HUGE difference. I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and I really can't say enough good things about it.For the first week I was keeping him inside during the day and applied it when I let him out after getting home. The results were absolutely amazing. His nose cleared up entirely and turned pink again (the pigment will never come back) instead of being a chapped and bloody mess after half an hour in the sun. Then I started putting it on in the morning and let him stay outside until I could get home on my lunch break. Still great results and no flare ups.The past week I've been letting him go outside whenever he wanted again, just like old times... and he did start to burn a bit (you can see it in the pic I included) but it's nothing like it used to be. I wish I took a before picture. And that spot could possibly be because I didn't apply enough, or because I was only putting it on in the morning. Now I'm applying it twice a day and suspect it will clear up entirely again. You have no idea (or maybe you do, since you're reading this) how *awesome* this feels. For the past year I've been thinking I couldn't take him anywhere in the daytime. No more trips to the mountains or even walks on a weekend afternoon. Now I've got my sidekick and best friend back...
